Delicious Salisbury Steak Recipe!

The Salisbury Steak, similar to Hamburg steak, is a kind of croquette or hamburger made from ground beef, pork, or a combination of both.

We can serve it with gravy and steamed vegetables. Ideal for lunches and dinners, Salisbury steak is a safe bet at the table.

Ingredients (6 pax)

  • 2,20 lb. of ground beef.
  • 1/3 cup of breadcrumbs.
  • 1 cup of Único extra virgin olive oil.
  • 2 teaspoons of tomato sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard.
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder.
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms and chopped parsley for decoration.

 For the sauce

  • 2 cups of gravy.
  • 1 teaspoon of tomato sauce.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

Preparation of Salisbury Steak:

  1. In a bowl, mix the meat with the breadcrumbs. Mix well and add the other ingredients.
  2. Mix with your hands until all the ingredients are fully integrated.
  3. Divide and shape into six round portions and then flatten with your hands into a circular shape.
  4. Heat the oil and cook the patties on a medium heat on both sides until they are no longer pink. Lower the cooking temperature and cook for a few minutes.
  5. Mix the gravy with the tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Pour into the pan with the meat, along with the sliced mushrooms and boil until the sauce is hot and thickened.
  6. Decorate with chopped parsley.
