Gluten free Belgian Waffles Recipe

It’s the weekend and what better way to start it than with this sweet snack. Today we’re going to prepare these delicious gluten-free Belgian waffles. Soft and chewy inside, our waffles are crispy on the outside.

It’s no problem if you make too many, as we can freeze and reheat them. Just let them defrost and heat them in the oven on a baking tray at 356ºF  for 10 minutes or until they are hot, or in the microwave for one minute.

Aceite de oliva sabor suave /light flavor olive oil

Ingredients (6 pax)

  • 1+3/4 cups of gluten-free pastry flour.
  • 2 teaspoons of yeast.
  • 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • 2 tablespoons of organic wholemeal panela sugar.
  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional).
  • 1+1/2 cups of buttermilk.
  • 1/4 cup of light flavor olive oil.
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • 2 organic eggs.

  • Sliced fruit, caramel or chocolate syrup and icing sugar for decoration.
  • 1 cup of vanilla ice cream.

Preparation of gluten-free Belgian waffles:

  1. Mix all the ingredients of our waffles in a bowl.
  2. Once they are all well combined, let the mixture rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the waffle iron. Spray the surface with oil. For greater convenience we can use aerosol cooking spray.
  4. Pour approximately 3/4 of 1 cup of the mixture onto the plate of the waffle iron.
  5. Cook for approximately 5 minutes or until no steam is released.
  6. Once the time is up, take the waffle out of the waffle iron.
  7. Our gluten-free Belgian waffles can be served on their own or with fruit, ice cream, icing sugar, cinnamon, caramel syrup, chocolate syrup – whatever you like the most!
