Storing olive oil in summer

Storing olive oil in summer so that it retains all its properties is easy, but not everyone does it correctly. Today we share with you a serie of tips from Almazaras de la Subbética to make sure your Extra Virgin Olive Oil retains all its benefits.

  • Store extra virgin olive oil in a cool, dry place with a more or less constant temperature of around 18 to 20 degrees.
  • It is very important to ensure that the oil is not exposed to direct sunlight so store bottles of oil in a dark place or somewhere with little light.
  • The bottle should be firmly closed after each use, to prevent any risk of oxidation.

If we don’t follow these small steps when storing olive oil, our EVOO can deteriorate and start to lose its properties, its color and its texture and turn rancid.
