Goya olive oils stand out in Japan
We continue to receive awards and recognitions for the quality of our olive oils. Today we review the awards won in Japan, one of the main markets for Goya olive oils, specifically in the JOOP Prize and Olive Japan, both of which count towards the EVOO world ranking.
In the 12th edition of the Japan Olive Oil Prize (Tokyo), GOYA® Unico has become the main protagonist by being recognized with a double award. Organics, Robusto and Garlic were also awarded with the following prizes:
- GOYA® Unico. Best in Class Blend Category & Best of Spain.
- GOYA® Organics. Best in Class Organic.
- GOYA® Robusto. Gold-Blend.
- GOYA® Garlic. Gold-Flavored.
To present the award winners, the organization held the Joop Open Day last July, where almost a hundred Japanese importers were able to taste the oils recognized in the contest.
On the otherhand, Olive Japan 2024 have awarded a total of four medals to Goya olive oils. Once again, the contest directed by Toshiya Tada awarded gold medals to GOYA® Unico and Organics, and silver medals to Robusto and Garlic.
Olive Japan is considered a benchmark of quality in Japan. In the 2024 edition the contest has counted with the participation of 766 extra virgin olive oils and infused olive oils from 28 countries.
Tasters Association
In addition to these two competitions, Goya olive oils are also recognized by Japanese tasters, as confirmed by the awards received at the JOOTA Awards, organized by the Japanese Olive Oil Tasters Association in Tokyo.
